Voodoo Vintage Fabrication announces it's release of a traditional designed leaf-spring front end - VELOCITY

Voodoo Vintage has built a name for their wide range of frame designs targeting Japanese, European, and American motorcycles. Current offerings include twelve base design styles spanning a multitude of engine platforms with several new frame designs in progress.

After two years of development, Voodoo Vintage has released it's traditional version of a leaf-spring front end. With exception to a few “updated” design elements, the VELOCITY front end closely replicates that of the early Indian Motorcycles leaf-spring front suspension.

The VELOCITY currently retails for $1095 Raw Steel and $1295 Gloss Black Powder-coated. (axle not included)

The VELOCITY leaf-spring front end features a rigid design element in that the main leg is monolithic and unlike most designs, continues from the lower rocker connection all the way through the lower clamp support and up through the toptree connection. This reduces the opportunity for fatigue fracture at the lower clamp junction.

Our top-trees are fabricated in-house and feature 1/2” riser mount holes distanced 3-1/2” apart allowing the use of traditional style Harley Davidson and Japanese handlebars with knurls of the same dimension. The top-tree may be mounted with the riser holes forward or rearward allowing placement options for the end user. The top-tree is secured to the forks using 1” sleeves positioned 4-1/2” apart. This is the same dimension as the early Harley Davidson Springer front end and allows the use of standard after-market top clamps including the Hollywood type handlebars and dog-bone type triple clamps.

The forward struts of the VELOCITY front end feature an updated “curved” design that brings a fresh new look to this tried-and-true front end system. Suspension can be “tuned” by adding or removing individual leafs depending on the customers preference. The included steering stem is machined from 1” 4130 rod and threaded 1-24. Custom stems may be easily fabricated allowing native installation to European and Japanese applications.

A new feature of the VELOCITY front end is the “Double Rocker” system that can be flipped vertically to allow alteration of finished axle height. The “Double Rocker” is machined to accept a standard 3/4” front axle and has enough width to allow the use of a typical double flanged front rim.

“We target the individual builder interested in producing his/her own custom motorcycle within a limited budget. Our frames and components closely replicate an era of classic motorcycle design commonly found through the early 20th Century when the sport of Board Track Racing was prevalent.” - David Roy
