This is one of those posts we wish we didn't have to make as no one ever wants to see a child sick. If you follow us on Instagram you met Rose and her parents, Trevor and Sarah-Jane, about five weeks ago. Trevor is known in the industry for his devotion to motorcycles. It's been awesome to watch the motorcycle community come together in the Kelly's time of need. For those of you meeting Ms. Rose for the first time here's a little background to get you up to speed.
Beautiful 4 mo. old Rose Kelly and her amazing parents, Trevor & Sarah-Jane, have been residents at OHSU's Pediatric Intensive Care since this past February. For nearly a month, doctors and specialists have worked to diagnose several compounding symptoms. Rose suffers from a severe case of cardiomyopathy (enlarged heart) - the causes of which are unknown and ongoing.
This incredible family now faces the possibility of relocating to a state with a qualified transplant facility while they await news of a potential donor - and the "gift" of a new heart for their little girl. In the meantime, Rose remains her wonderful little self: strong, resilient, and even full of smiles through it all.
And now there is something that we can do to help...
Rose's village is rallying around her to ensure that basic finances pose no barrier to her chances at making a full recovery! Conceived by friend Corey Winkle, Roll Out For Rose is a motorcycle ride and silent auction fundraiser to show our support for one of our own. Hosted by See See Motor Coffee Co., with in-kind contributions from incredible Partners in the community, this is gearing up to be an epic event! Come out and share some love for the littlest amongst us! If you would like to donate soft goods for the auction please contact Corey at liveforocks@gmail.com.
